Wednesfield
|
Wednesfield offers a wide range of housing provision from traditional family homes to modern luxury apartments, both for sale and to rent.
The traditional village centre offers a range of shopping opportunities, with a number of the shops retaining their original character. A market operates in the High Street on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, offering additional provision for shoppers. The recent pedestrianisation of the village centre has made the High Street an attractive environment in which to shop.
The village centre is linked by a new pedestrian walkway to the Bentley Bridge leisure park which features a multi-screen cinema, ten-pin bowling alley, restaurants and retail outlets. The new walkway includes a public square, incorporating an ampitheatre design, two water features plus seating and lighting.
Wednesfield is home to Wolverhampton's Swimming and Fitness Centre - a fantastic £12 million leisure facility, which has been built in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council and DC Leisure Management. It provides a wide range of sports and activities for all sections of the community within Wolverhampton. Follow the link on the right hand side of this page to find out more.
Wednesfield also has an exciting new library. The Big Lottery’s Community Library Fund has awarded Wolverhampton City Council's library service £1,497,297 towards the project. The new library on the corner of Well Lane and Rookery Street opened to the public in June 2010 and allows for greatly extended library facilities as well as a set of community meeting rooms and offices for Wednesfield Neighbourhood Management. |
